You get what you pay for and most of what I've gotten here has been just good enough to get us by till the kids are gone and we can have nice furniture.

I recently purchased a mattress from Slumberland. Short story: If you want quality customer service, shop elsewhere. The franchise owner personally sold me a mattress. The display model was soft and pliable and I liked it very much. I bought it and had to wait a week to have it delivered. The delivery fee was a bit steep considering I only live a couple blocks away. The mattress I received was the correct brand and model, but it was as hard as a slab of rock. I slept on it for two nights hoping that maybe it was just me, but alas, the mattress is still so firm and hard that it causes my back physical pain to sleep on it.

I called him and asked to exchange it for a different mattress that I had already picked out (one that was more expensive, mind you) and he matter-of-factly told me that he "isn't in the business to exchange mattresses" and that there's "nothing he can do for me". I tried to explain to him that the product he sold me is causing me physical pain, but he just kept saying that there's "nothing he can do for me"- a broken record- typical for a person who has no interest in actually providing customer service.

Recently went to purchase a sofa recliner. We found one that we liked a lot and put 1000.00 down. The salesman told us it would be in within the week, this was on Saturday. He then called me on Monday and said he was sorry but it would be 9 weeks before they got it in. I told him I would call him right back after I spoke to my fiancé. I have called 4 times and it is now the following Friday. Just spoke with a woman who tells me the salesman has been off and she doesn't see where I put down 1000.00. I wouldn't ever suggest anyone going here. Very unprofessional and not organized at all, luckily I have all the paper work they gave me or I would have been out 1000.00.

Recommendation: Shop elsewhere. First, sleep tight seems to be quite a bit cheaper. However slumberland did match the price on a bed we liked, but only because my sales person fought for me. Also ask about their exchange policy before you purchase anything. We purchased a new tempur-pedic bed and were told that within 60 days we could exchange it for a different model without any problems. The issue I have is that the model that we exchanged it for was $500 less, and I was issued no refund or store credit for the difference. Also I was charged a $49 delivery fee for bringing the second mattress out to me. Lastly, one of us was unhappy with the pillows, and there is NO exchanging of pillows, even if you purchase the $85 "protector" set or whatever you need to to make sure you can do the exchange. Love the bed, Hate the store. In a town with several furniture stores and bedding outlets, this should be the last place you shop.

Be safe and shop elsewhere. I'll never recommend this place to anybody, ever.

All-in-all, this has been a pretty bad experience and I'm stuck with a product that isn't right for me and the franchise owner, Ron, is completely unwilling to do anything about it to help me even though I've offered to bring back the mattress myself and pay the difference for a different one altogether. I'm not sure what kind of business this joker is running, but it's a pretty bad one.

So, now, I have to buy a mattress topper from somewhere else to try to help alleviate the problem. I called the Slumberland corporate office and they told me that since the Quincy location is a franchise, there's not a lot they could do about this situation except file a customer complaint and send it to the store (what good will that do) on my behalf.
